 Last week we watched a documentary about how men and women are represented in the adds. We undertsand that women are wanted to be represented as defenseless, innocent,and dependent. However, men are represented as independent, powrerfull, ready to iniatiate actions. In this documentary showed some adds in terms of women and men. I was suprised because I did never think before that women in the adds who are touching their neck oor other parts of body show us the fragility of women. In the adds those kinds of poses are so common but in the real life noone stay like touching herself or so.. But when we see a women touches herself that not seems awkward but when a man touches himself, it seems highly weird. It can also be perceived as homosexualism. Even if we do not recognize or we do not want to accept, media has an important effects on the perception of how should women and men seem.

 We watched a video about men or real men. This video shows us a real man should be independent, serious, non-emotional and so forth. We can see everywhere, everyday on TV or adds like that 'men should not show their feelings' I don't agree with this opinion because men are also human being if women can be accepted to show their feelings, men also should be accepted like that. Throughout media, because we have been seeing men should be tough and non-emotional, we cannot accept a man who is crying before the baseball match. It seems to weird to everybody , both men and women. Although, seeing a man who is crying should be normal behavior, a lot of people cannot accept this idea because of the accumulated opinions.

Women hollering creek

  In this story, the woman who is called Cleofilas loves watching TV series, and even she can love or hate, cry and smile for the characters that she watches on TV series. She wants to have love like in those series.
Finally she get married but after a while she wants to go back her previous life , although she has a children and again she is pregnant.Because her husband abuses her, she understand there is no life like in the TV series.
In my opinion, this story reflects the common thought in the society since there are lots of women and girls who watch those kind of TV series and can assume in the real life everything is like TV series. But unfortunately, they understand the truth after something has passed.

The more you substract the more you add

There are lots of women who are now dieting, all around the world. Especially in the media-oriented countries, this number gets started to increase because of the given messages from the mass media. Through the media, women feel the pressure on themselves, since this messages are given as women should be thin or quite. We can understand those messages by adds, magazines or elsewhere on the mass media. The more people see the thinnest women on the media, the more people think women should always be like on the media.Thus, in order to achieve those messages, the high number of unhealthy diets or vomitting disare can be seen.
In addition, until from 2 or 3 years, sizes are being shrunk, so even if women are seen as fit, they cannot find the appropriate clothes for themselves.

TV

   Everybody can agree with that after TV comes our homes, there are inevitable changes in families such as rituals and activities. At the times TV first came out, it was considered as a connecting factor since it brang whole family altogether in one room. However, as the time passes, maybe due to the decreasing in TV prices, in one home, each room has its own TV. Thus, children can watch whatever they want in their rooms  or father can watch the matches that he is obsessed and mother can watch in her bedroom her serials that she follows. Therefore, as thet do not communicate with each other so much, the disconnectiın will show up among the family members.
After the TV comes our homes, family rituals took a jab. For instance, before the TV, when the whole family are together, they talked, they chatted, childrens were playing with each other and so forth. However nowadays, when the family members are gathered, they just sit in front of the TV and watch and watch it for a long time.

Reality tv

    In Turkey, there are dozens of reality shows that really seem to draw most people's attantion.
Some of the reality shows can be beneficial for some people since they may solve their family problems or  they can marry and so forth through this kind of programs. According to some people are marrying through the TV is so amusing, as in my opinion so.. actually it depends on the way how we perceive them.
On the other hand, there is also some genre of reality shows that reflect too little reality in. For instance meanwhile the cultural appearance, like relationships and attitudes to each other, is different, they reflect in much different ways. Thus, the society can be affected in a wrong way because of believing in what is shown in reality programs. As they believe that the things in reality shows are real , they can start to act like the same. This effect could be considered as a negative effect of it. Although some people do not like that kind of programs, they can still watch because for them they are just for entartainment and it includes some ridiculous. Therefore, it is funny to watch them.I think this is the explanation of its rating is always at high levels.

Music Piracy

According to a few people , music piracy is considered as stealing.I think, downloading music or copyright could be tried by each person and it should not be considered as a crime.We also have to do some determination between the people who do the piracy to get interest including selling the things they download or do copyright,and those utilizing downloading system merely for themselves. For instance those people can download the music that they just like to listen. Until it is used for getting interest or income, the music piracy seems to be not considered as a crime. In addition, even if the downloading wants to be hindered, nobody could do this because in those years we have a chance to use this opportunity and for sure nobody wants to get rid of it.Therefore it already tends to be the common thing every person use.
